I'll have to make do with the Monarch/Skydrops/Airiel/A Place To Bury Strangers newgazing showcase last Saturday nite.

Tim was trying to convince Oliver APTBS that they should do a Skywave reunion show at the Walls of Sound -- would kinda make sense cos most of the Skywave folks would prolly be there anyway.
They had a glass jar full of earplugs at the door -- good thing for everybody. I've never seen a show before with as high a percentage of the crowd wearing earplugs. It was specially useful cos not only did we get the usual noisy A Place To Bury Strangers show, but Airiel decided to drop the dreampop and go noise with a long set, climaxing in all of APTBS, all of Airiel and this other guy from I forget what band, eight guys, two basses, two drum kits, four screeching guitars all wailing out what started off as a cover "Tomorrow Never Knows" and ended in Metal Machine Music.
Monarch
The Sky Drops
A Place to Bury Strangers
Airiel
one more of Oliver APTBS -- then that's Jenn Monarch outside...
